Job summary

Kyndryl is looking for a senior AI software engineer to design, develop, and deploy advanced AI solutions for enterprise customers in a hybrid Madrid setting. You will shape AI offerings, deliver scalable systems, and ensure rigorous quality and performance.

You’ll lead architecture, implement agentic workflows, and drive best practices in testing and deployment, collaborating with cross-functional teams. This role blends research, engineering and operations in a global AI strategy.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Python and AI model development.
• Experience with ML/DL frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow).
• Hands-on with vector databases and RAG pipelines.
• Familiar with LLMs, prompting and evaluation.
• Experience with software testing and scalable design.
• Ability to work in hybrid, collaborative teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of end-to-end AI solutions for enterprise deployments.
• Develop agentic components with tool calling, reasoning workflows and evaluation.
• Establish automated benchmarking, testing and continuous improvement.
• Contribute to scalable AI architecture including vector DBs and LLMOps.
• Ensure performance, maintainability and long-term scalability.
• Provide technical leadership for complex AI initiatives.
• Guide AI capabilities and agent architectures with stakeholders.

The Role

You’ll be at the forefront of designing, developing and implementing advanced software solutions that transform how industries operate. Your expertise will play a key role in shaping our AI offerings, enabling the delivery of innovative solutions at scale while ensuring the highest standards of quality, reliability and operational excellence.

What you will do

• Lead the design and implementation of end-to-end AI solutions, translating design documentation and state-machine specifications into scalable, production-ready agentic systems.
• Drive the development of agentic components, ensuring tool calling, reasoning workflows and evaluation mechanisms are robust, measurable and ready for enterprise deployment.
• Establish and promote best practices for automated benchmarking, testing and continuous improvement to ensure solution quality and operational readiness.
• Contribute to the architecture of scalable AI solutions, including vector database designs, prompt orchestration approaches and LLMOps pipelines that support reliable deployment and lifecycle management.
• Ensure AI solutions are designed, implemented and evolved with a strong focus on performance, maintainability and long-term scalability.

Strategic Technical Leadership

• Provide technical leadership for complex AI initiatives, evaluating technical approaches while balancing performance, scalability, latency and operational considerations.
• Guide the definition and evolution of AI capabilities, functional objectives and agent architectures in collaboration with stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
• Drive innovation in areas such as self-healing code, automated error correction and intelligent automation, helping shape the future of cloud-based managed services powered by AI.
• Influence technical direction through problem solving, engineering excellence and the adoption of emerging AI technologies and practices.
