Job summary

REVEL in Barcelona is seeking an AI Engineer to join our Artificial Intelligence team. You will develop and evolve AI services, implement and improve agents, and integrate with internal APIs under the Lead AI Engineer's guidance.

You will work on unifying initiatives, building scalable, observable systems, and enabling advanced use cases like autonomous agents and intelligent document analysis. Hybrid office-based role with a focus on shipping production-ready features.

Qualifications

• Formal technical university degree in a relevant field is required.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, asynchronous programming and scalable architectures.
• Ability to deploy and iterate quickly with autonomous decision-making.
• Experience with AI coding tools (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor) and related trade-offs.
• Fluent Spanish and technical English for team communication and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Unify initiatives under a common architecture with data governance.
• Transform prototypes into real-time, observable, cost-controlled systems with low latency.
• Enable complex use cases including autonomous agents and intelligent document analysis.
• Program agents to execute deterministic actions via APIs, handling state, errors, and handoffs.
• Build middleware connecting LLMs with internal services and data pipelines.
• Design retrieval pipelines for complex docs, vectors, chunking, and reranking.
• Design evaluation criteria for agents before deployment.
