Job summary

REVEL in Barcelona is seeking an AI Engineer to join our Artificial Intelligence team. You will develop and evolve AI services, implement and improve agents, and integrate with internal APIs under the Lead AI Engineer's guidance.

You will work on unifying initiatives, building scalable, observable systems, and enabling advanced use cases like autonomous agents and intelligent document analysis. Hybrid office-based role with a focus on shipping production-ready features.

Qualifications

• Formal technical university degree in a relevant field is required.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, asynchronous programming and scalable architectures.
• Ability to deploy and iterate quickly with autonomous decision-making.
• Experience with AI coding tools (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor) and related trade-offs.
• Fluent Spanish and technical English for team communication and documentation.

Responsibilities

We are looking for an AI Engineer to join REVEL's Artificial Intelligence team. A technical profile who will take charge of developing several of our AI services. Your goal will be to implement and evolve the AI agents we already have up and running: build, iterate, measure, and fix. You will report to the Lead AI Engineer, who will provide the context, priorities, and technical approach for each project.

• Unify scattered initiatives under a common architecture, avoiding technological fragmentation and ensuring data governance.
• Transform prototypes into resilient systems capable of operating in real time, with observability, cost control, and low latency.
• Enable complex use cases (autonomous agents, intelligent document analysis) that directly impact the company's P&L (operational efficiency, fraud reduction, conversion).
• Program agents capable of executing deterministic actions (tool calling) on our APIs, safely managing state, errors, and handoff to a human.
• Build the middleware (MCP servers, orchestrators, APIs) that connects LLMs with our internal services.
• Implement robust information retrieval pipelines for complex documentation, managing vector databases, chunking strategies, and reranking.
• Design the evals for each agent and define what “good” means before deployment, not afterwards.

Требования:

• A technical university degree (Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, Mathematics, Physics...). Solid Software Engineering: Demonstrable background.
• You understand REST APIs, asynchronous programming, and scalability.
• Autonomy and speed. We like deploying and iterating rather than waiting until something is perfect, and we are looking for professionals with this mindset and the ability to make decisions on their own and defend them afterwards.
• Advanced use of AI coding tools: Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or equivalents are part of your day-to-day work, and you know how to explain where they help you and where they cause problems.
• Fluent Spanish and technical English. You will speak with the team in Spanish and read documentation and APIs in English.
• Будет плюсом: Applied experience in GenAI: You have taken LLM-based solutions to production; You know the challenges of latency, hallucinations, and managing context and tool-calling errors; Voice agents and their particularities (latency, barge-in, turn design): ElevenLabs, LiveKit, Vapi; Data background: strong SQL, dbt, pipelines; LLM observability and eval design: Langfuse, LangSmith, Datadog; Agent orchestration and development frameworks: LangChain / LangGraph, LlamaIndex; Cloud. AWS preferred (Lambda, queues, IAM, logs). If you come from GCP or Azure and adapt quickly, that works for us too
