Job summary

Temos AI in Barcelona is seeking an AI Engineer to join our Product & Technology team. You will build AI-powered features, design data pipelines, and own end-to-end production delivery, shaping Temos as a leader in energy intelligence.

The role is mid-to-senior with 2–5 years of software experience; you will work on complex energy data, collaborate directly with customers, and contribute to a fast-growing startup culture in our new Barcelona office.

The energy transition has a bottleneck nobody talks about: access to the grid. Thousands of solar, wind, storage and industrial projects are stuck waiting for one answer: is there capacity to connect, and where?

Temos is a fast-growing Barcelona startup building the intelligence layer for the energy industry, starting with that one very big problem: access to power and access to the grid. We turn fragmented, highly technical public data (grid operator capacity files, regulatory gazettes, permitting records) into products that developers, utilities and investors use to make multi-million-euro decisions.

We are a small team with a high density of talent, coming from McKinsey, BCG and leading players in the energy space. The role

We are looking for an AI Engineer to join our Product & Technology team in our Barcelona office.

You are a builder at heart. You love using AI to ship products, automate workflows and solve hard problems, and you want to do it in a domain that is highly complex: electrical grids, regulation and engineering constraints, where being right matters. You'll own features end to end, from talking to a customer to shipping to production, and you'll help shape what Temos becomes.

What we're looking for

This is a mid-to-senior role. Most people who'd thrive here have around 2 to 5 years building software. If you have fewer years but have built things people actually use, we'd still love to hear from you.

Must-haves

• Hands-on experience building AI or data products
• Software engineering and agentic coding skills: you build with AI coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex…) every day and own the quality of what you ship. Our stack is Python (backend) and React / TypeScript (frontend)
• You can have complex conversations with customers and work with them directly to understand and solve their problems
• A team player with a strong sense of mission: you help others without being asked, put the team first, and add to our culture

Highly valued

• Product skills: software development lifecycle, backlog prioritization, talking to users and turning feedback into product
• You've lived the 0→1 stage of a startup
• Energy, electrical engineering or an engineering background. Words like "substation", "MW" or "grid connection" don't scare you
