Qaracter is seeking an AI-Native Backend/API Technical Lead to drive secure, scalable backend services for a global Banking-as-a-Service platform across Payments, Collections, and Cash Management.

You will supervise autonomous engineering workflows, ensure AI-assisted outputs are secure and production-ready, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a dynamic, international environment. Proficiency in English and Spanish is required.

Formación

• Minimum 4 years of professional experience in Backend/API Engineering or a similar leadership role.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java 17+ / Java 21 and Spring Boot 3.
• Experience developing REST APIs, microservices, and enterprise backend services.
• Practical experience with Python 3.11+ and FastAPI.
• Strong understanding of API lifecycle management, API security, governance and enterprise integration patterns.
• Experience with Apache Kafka, Kafka Streams, schema registries and event-driven architectures.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and GitOps.
• English and Spanish: professional working proficiency.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and supervise end-to-end technical delivery of secure, scalable Backend/API capabilities.
• Translate functional requirements into technical specifications, designs, and acceptance criteria.
• Design, develop, and review backend services using Java, Python, and FastAPI where appropriate.
• Document RESTful APIs and event-driven flows (OpenAPI 3.1, AsyncAPI).
• Supervise AI-assisted engineering workflows using Devin, Claude, Copilot, and similar tools.
• Ensure traceability across requirements, prompts, tasks, code, tests, and release evidence.
• Review AI-generated designs, code, tests, and documentation for quality and security.
• Collaborate with multiple teams across Architecture, Security, Platform, and Governance.
