United ITS is seeking an IT professional to perform database administration for MSSQL and open-source databases, and to provide ongoing support for applications used by UNICC and partners. The role includes on-site work in Valencia, Spain or Brindisi, Italy, with 24x7 standby coverage and potential shift work.

The candidate should have 3–5 years in IT support, strong Windows/Linux knowledge, and good English. Remote work is limited to occasional teleworking per project needs.

Formación

• 3 to 5 years of experience in application maintenance and general IT support.
• Assist in deploying and maintaining cloud identity platforms based on client requirements.
• Good working knowledge of client/server applications in a Windows/Linux environment.
• Good working knowledge of Database Management.
• Very good knowledge of English (both written and verbal) is required.

Responsabilidades

Full Time | Valencia, Spain (On-site) or Brindisi, Italy (On-site)

Location: Valencia, Spain or Brindisi, Italy

Required Technical Skills

Scope of Work:

• Perform database administration tasks of MSSQL and open source databases;


• Provide day-to-day support and maintenance of applications and tools for the UNICC and partners;


• Resolve in a timely manner Tier-2 application issues and escalated Tier-3 issues to Designated focal points;


• Assist in the evaluation, configuration and installation of new releases in accordance with established configuration management standards;


• Assist in applications structural changes required during system upgrades;


• Assist in the deployment of tools and in the implementation of processes to assist in operational support;


• Assist in responding to application-related queries from end users in remote locations;


• Facilitate knowledge transfer to Tier-1 and deliver end-user training sessions on the application functionality.


• Assist in the development and in the updating of software applications related documentation, including technical documentation and system reports, attend operational and other meetings;


• Provide standby and on-call 24×7 support, and work in shifts when requested;


• Provide other ad hoc support either within your team or in other teams as required – this includes the participation in special projects or support to service delivery for short period of time on a part‑time or full‑time basis upon request from the senior management;


• Perform other duties, as required.

The resource MUST have the following skills and experience::

• 3 to 5 years of experience in application maintenance and general IT support;


• Assist in deploying and maintaining cloud identity platforms based on client requirements.


• Good working knowledge of client/server applications in a Windows/Linux environment;


• Good working knowledge of Database Management;


• Very good knowledge of English (both written and verbal) is required.


• High school diploma

The resource SHOULD have the following skills and experience:

• At least three years of experience administering Microsoft Windows server, SQL Server databases and .NET applications.


• Good working knowledge of MySQL, RedHat Linux server, and Drupal applications


• Good working knowledge of global Active Directory Architecture, AWS and Azure


• Familiarity with United Nations policy framework for International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) or compliant operational concepts and processes


• Knowledge of another official United Nations language is desirable


• Ability to grasp complex concepts, logical and analytical approach to solving problems


• Ability to work under pressure and with minimum supervision


• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team of diverse skills


• Willingness to improve knowledge and skills and learn new technologies

Desirable certifications:

• Certifications and advanced training in Microsoft technologies


• Certification and familiarity with ITIL concepts and processes

Teleworking Option: Yes, up to 1 day per week

On-call requirements: One week per month
