Page Executive represents a leading international bank in Madrid seeking an experienced Accounting & Financial Reporting leader to oversee monthly, quarterly and annual closings in accordance with IFRS and local banking regulations.

You will ensure the accuracy of the general ledger and sub‑ledgers, supervise financial statements and regulatory reports, drive ERP integration, automation and cross‑functional collaboration across Finance, Risk, Treasury and IT.

Formación

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• 7–10 years of progressively responsible accounting experience, including leadership.

Responsabilidades

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes in IFRS and local regulations.
• Ensure accuracy of the general ledger and all sub‑processes (AP, AR, fixed assets, treasury, provisions, reconciliations).
• Supervise preparation of financial statements and regulatory reports.

Job Description

Accounting & Financial Reporting

• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes in accordance with IFRS and local regulatory requirements.
• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of the general ledger and all accounting sub‑processes (AP, AR, fixed assets, treasury accounting, provisions, reconciliations).
• Supervise the preparation of financial statements and regulatory reports, ensuring timeliness and high-quality standards.

Compliance, Controls & Audit

• Ensure strong internal controls consistent with audit standards and banking regulations.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external auditors, coordinating deliverables and implementing recommendations.
• Maintain up-to-date understanding of regulatory requirements affecting financial and accounting processes.

Systems Integration & Transformation Initiatives

• Lead and contribute to system integration projects, including data migration, process harmonization, system upgrades, ERP implementations, and connections with core banking platforms.
• Partner closely with IT and business teams to map accounting flows, validate data integrity, and ensure seamless interaction between financial systems.
• Drive automation, digitalization, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process efficiency and reporting quality.

Leadership & Cross‑Functional Collaboration

• Manage, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders across Finance, Risk, Treasury, Operations, and Technology.
• Support strategic decision-making by providing insights, analysis, and financial expertise.

The Successful Applicant

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• At least 7-10 years of progressively responsible accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities.
• Strong background in the banking or financial services sector.
• Proven experience in systems integration projects, including ERP implementation, data migration, process mapping, or financial system upgrades.
• Solid knowledge of IFRS and banking‑related accounting standards.
• Experience with financial systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar and core banking platforms.
• Familiarity with integration tools and methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work within tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management capabilities.
• Proactive leadership style, with a focus on transformation and continuous improvement.
