Accounting Controller

For our office in Madrid Aquila Capital is seeking an Accounting Controller (f / m / d) .

Your Responsibilities

• Reviewing the accuracy of the accounting books and financial statements and being responsible for accurate and timely submissions of monthly-basis financial reports and treasury control reports.
• Responsible for Companies' Annual Accounts and responsible for the Audit Report.
• Responsible for all the mandatory requirements of the company.
• Design and implement analytical accounting : working with coding trees and budgeting items.
• Creation and development of internal financial controls, evaluating their robustness, reasonableness and implementation.
• Provide Management with the necessary financial information and perform the follow-up on the key matters identified.
• Review and improve the reporting system and other financial processes identifying concrete actions to implement.
• Coordination of external providers (e.g. accountants, auditors, lawyers, banks, etc.).
• Support other departments that need financial information.

Key Requirements

• Degree in Business Administration, ideally with a focus on Corporate Finance or Economics.
• 3-4 years of professional experience in the field of auditing, acquired e.g. at an accounting firm (Big Four). Knowledge of taxation and IFRS is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills and a very good understanding of numbers.
• Precise and reliable working method coupled with high autonomy, implementation strength and flexibility.
• Teamwork.
• Being able to manage workloads, prioritize tasks and work through strict deadlines.
• Very good knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel. PowerPoint and MS Dynamics are desirable.
• Fluent English and Spanish. Strong verbal and written communication skills required in both languages. German is an asset.
