Mission:

You will be part of the Finance and Administration team, an area that collaborates transversally with many other stakeholders locally and internationally. Specifically, the team's main mission is to:

1. Drive the planning and controlling of the overall business results with a focus on specific financial and operational indicators.
2. Maintain an accurate and clear bookkeeping under different accounting GAAPS (Spanish, German, IFRS).
3. Ensure compliance with local tax requirements (CIT, VAT, withholding taxes, SII, IPT, Consortio).
4. Coordinate the invoices booking and commercial provisions recognition.
5. Contribute to the treasury management and banking operations.
6. Develop an adequate control environment that allows financial and administrative operations to be carried out in accordance with corporate policies.
7. Maintain a dynamic and reliable communication with local collaborators from other areas as well as with our counterparts at the head office.

Key Responsibilities of the role:

As an accounting and finance expert at Allianz Direct, you will be responsible for the following:

1. Build and maintain the Financial Statements of the branch under Spanish GAAPS for Insurance entities (“Plan de contabilidad de las entidades aseguradoras”) with a focus on the treatment to technical provisions, financial investments, bad debt and differed taxes.
2. Collaborate closely with the central teams based in Germany, being the point of contact for accounting subjects, Spanish GAAPS, IFRS and HGB (German GAAPS).
3. Contribute to maintain an accurate bookkeeping, notably regarding the expense/provisions recognition and the payable/receivable accounts.
4. Drive the planning and controlling process, monitoring the achievement of the plan, identifying eventual deviations and contributing to define corrective actions.
5. Support the local tax reporting (VAT, withholding taxes, SII, IPT, Consortio) with a focus on the Corporate Income Taxes to be built under Spanish GAAPS.
6. Contribute to the proper functioning of the department in other administrative and finance activities.
7. Business partnering with other local areas providing insights to support strategic decision-making.

Skills for the Position:

1. University education in Business and Administration or equivalent.
2. Spanish accounting GAAPS knowledge and experience are a must. IFRS is desirable. HGB is a plus.
3. 5+ years of experience in accounting departments. Experience in an insurance company or auditing company is highly desirable.
4. Advanced knowledge of Excel and Powerpoint. SAP and PowerBI (desirable).
5. High level of English (at least B2-C1), no matter if you make mistakes, but you need to be able to understand and express yourself in English.
6. Autonomy and proactive problem-solving skills.
7. Analytical skills and business acumen.
8. Collaboration and teamwork orientation.
9. Influential communication skills.
10. Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in an efficient manner.
11. Ability to work occasionally under pressure.
