The Fundació Sant Joan de Déu seeks a pre-doctoral researcher to focus on youth mental health within interdisciplinary teams. You will engage in projects aimed at enhancing adolescent health through innovative eHealth platforms, requiring a Master's degree and relevant research experience, with flexible hours and potential remote work.

Formación

  • Master’s degree in Psychology, Medicine, or related field required.
  • 1-4 years of research experience including international projects.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish; Catalan knowledge is a plus.

The Fundació Privada per a la Recerca Sant Joan de Déu, created in 2002, conducts research in biomedical and social spheres at various centers including the Maternal and Infantile Hospital of Esplugues and others associated with the Hospital Order San Juan de Dios.

The research group "Epidemiology of Mental Health Disorders and Ageing" led by Dr. Josep Maria Haro seeks a pre-doctoral researcher to work on youth mental health, collaborating with Dr. Rodrigo Antunes Lima.

The project IMPROVA aims to co-design, pilot, evaluate, and scale a modular eHealth platform to improve adolescent mental health, detect issues early, and reduce stigma. It involves a large, interdisciplinary team and will include a randomized controlled trial across several European countries, involving 8,000 adolescents, with comprehensive evaluation methods.

Similarly, the project ePro-Schools will develop and evaluate an intervention platform to promote physical activity and healthy eating among adolescents, involving a co-creation process with stakeholders and a focus on socially disadvantaged groups.

Key responsibilities include supporting the co-creation and implementation of these programs, assisting users during trials, conducting stakeholder interviews, and contributing to dissemination activities such as manuscripts and presentations.

Qualifications required:

  • A Master’s degree in a health-related discipline (Psychology, Medicine, Public Health, etc.) or a closely related field.
  • Research experience in the field, including international projects and publications.
  • Experience with school-based studies or eHealth platform development.
  • Language skills in English and Spanish; knowledge of Catalan is a plus.
