WHO ARE WE?

Sateliot is a Barcelona-based startup in the New Space sector, becoming the first satellite telecommunications operator to provide global and continuous connectivity to the IoT universe under the 5G protocol. We are launching a constellation of nanosatellites acting as mobile towers to serve this purpose.

Sateliot complements large telecommunications companies by providing infrastructure where terrestrial technologies do not reach.

YOUR MISSION

We are seeking a highly skilled FPGA Architect to join our communication systems team, focusing on next-generation 5G technology. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and integrating signal processing blocks on FPGA platforms, collaborating with DSP engineers, translating models into RTL and VHDL code using HLS tools, and selecting suitable FPGA platforms.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Design and implement physical layer processing chains for 5G on FPGA.
2. Translate MATLAB/C++ models into RTL and VHDL using HLS tools.
3. Evaluate and select FPGA platforms based on performance and integration needs.
4. Optimize hardware architectures for real-time processing.
5. Perform simulation, synthesis, and timing closure of FPGA designs.
6. Integrate and validate firmware components.
7. Conduct system-level testing on hardware.
8. Collaborate with system architects, software, and hardware teams.
9. Document architectural decisions and test plans.

REQUIREMENTS

• Master’s or PhD in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in FPGA design, preferably in wireless communications or DSP.
• Proficiency in VHDL or Verilog.
• Experience with HLS tools (e.g., Xilinx Vitis HLS, Intel HLS).
• Experience evaluating FPGA platforms (e.g., Xilinx Zynq, Intel Stratix).
• Familiarity with MATLAB and C++ for modeling.
• Understanding of JESD204 or similar interfaces.
• Experience with FPGA development environments (Vivado, Quartus, ModelSim).

NICE TO HAVE

• Background in 4G/5G modem or PHY layer implementation.
• Exposure to RF systems and MIMO architectures.
• Experience with embedded software co-development.
