A Senior Statistician independently provides statistical expertise to cross-functional teams, leads teams of statisticians and programmers, and ensures the use of appropriate and efficient statistical analysis methods during development, submission, and/or lifecycle management of Bayer products according to applicable global and regional standards, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
Major Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Provide statistical input to Medical Affairs teams for designing, planning, and conducting analyses for observational studies, clinical studies (phase IV), epidemiology studies, and analyses of existing databases.
- Lead statistical cross-functional teams to generate publications, presentations, and posters in collaboration with Medical Affairs.
- Scientifically appraise study protocols and proposals.
- Facilitate the organization and coordination of statistical activities.
- Ensure the accuracy of statistical analysis and interpretation of results.
- Work independently on statistical questions and tasks.
- Develop knowledge in scientific methods for Real World Evidence projects such as observational studies, epidemiology, and market access strategies.
- Oversee and ensure timely delivery of statistical work outsourced to external providers.

- Statistics and statistical methodology are integral to drug development and lifecycle management, impacting the planning, design, analysis, and reporting of studies to achieve regulatory approval, scientific acceptance, and successful product launch and maintenance.
- The Senior Statistician contributes to drug research, development, approval, and lifecycle management of pharmaceuticals.

Requisites:
Qualifications:
- PhD or MS in Biostatistics, Statistics, or Mathematics
- At least two years of experience as a statistician in the Pharma, Biotech, or similar sector
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Good knowledge of statistical programming languages (including SAS and/or R)
