Job Description:

This offer is part of the Talent Music Tech Marketplace organized by Barcelona Activa in collaboration with BARCELONA MUSICTECH HUB.

As a Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in BMAT, supporting a software team in achieving its objectives. Your contributions will directly influence/impact BMAT top of mind goals, making you an integral part of our team. We are the Operating System of the music industry.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop, test, and deploy software applications and systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Troubleshoot and debug applications to optimise performance and ensure reliability.
• Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledge.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the development process and methodologies.

Collaboration and Team Dynamics

You will collaborate closely with the software team, operations team, and DevOps team to achieve quarterly goals. These collaborations are pivotal for organisational success and effective communication across different areas of the company.

Expectations of the role (only for new positions):

Within 30 Days:

• Complete onboarding and training programs.
• Familiarize yourself with the company's mission, values, and development process.
• Understand the tools, technologies, and frameworks used by the development team.

Team Integration:

• Meet team members and stakeholders.
• Participate in team meetings and Agile ceremonies.
• Build relationships with colleagues.

Initial Contributions:

• Review existing codebases and documentation.
• Work on small tasks or bug fixes.
• Seek feedback to understand best practices.

Within 90 Days:

• Increase your functions and responsibilities based on adaptation to the company and role.

• Gross annual remuneration: 26k to 54k

KEY REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience as a Software Engineer or similar role.
• Experience in Python.
• Experience with web frameworks (React, Angular, Django) is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage responsibilities.
• Organizational skills and discretion in handling sensitive information.
• Proactive attitude, willingness to learn, adaptability, and openness to feedback.
• Team player capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
• Fluency in English; proficiency in Catalan and Spanish is a plus.
• Location in Barcelona preferred; remote arrangements may be considered.
