Digital Sun - 3D Animator Position

Digital Sun is a standout studio in the indie game world. With three successful titles behind us, we’re always pushing creative boundaries and exploring new frontiers. We are seeking talented individuals to join us as we continue shaping the future of indie gaming.

Our game development studio is looking for a talented and creative 3D Animator to bring life and motion to our characters, environments, and creatures. If you have a passion for animation and storytelling through movement, we want you on our in-house team in Valencia, Spain.

Responsibilities

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a 3D Animator in the gaming industry or related field.
• Proficiency in 3D animation software such as Maya, Blender, or 3ds Max.
• Strong understanding of animation principles like timing, weight, posing, and anticipation, especially in game animations.
• Experience with character rigging and skinning.
• Ability to create fluid, dynamic animations for characters, props, and environments.
• Experience with game engines (Unity, Unreal Engine) and implementing animations into real-time projects.
• Excellent communication skills in Spanish and English, and ability to work collaboratively.

Desired Skills and Qualifications

• Knowledge of facial animation techniques and tools.
• Familiarity with procedural animation systems or tools for dynamic animation.
• Understanding of animation blending, state machines, and IK / FK systems in game engines.
• Experience in animating for various platforms (PC and consoles).
• Ability to adapt to different art styles, from realistic to stylized animations.
• Knowledge of scripting (e.g., Python, MEL) to enhance workflows.
• A portfolio or reel showcasing diverse 3D animations, particularly for games.
• Flexible working hours with the option to work remotely one day per week.
• 35-hour work week promoting work-life balance.
