A leading geospatial mapping company in Barcelona is seeking an entry-level editing and digitalization operator to work in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Responsibilities include managing vector cartography projects, quality control, and using ArcMap. Ideal candidates should have a degree in Geography and experience with GIS environments. Fluent English and Spanish are required. This is a permanent position with commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Overview

Our geospatial mapping department, with more than 30 years of experience and a great reputation in the sector, needs to incorporate editing and digitalization operators in Geographic Information Systems GIS environments, for the generation, updating and adaptation of cartographic databases in 2D and / or 3D.

Starting from satellite or aerial images, we generate different types of vector cartography products, including urban topographic maps, regional or national coverage, aeronautical cartography, intelligence and security, etc.

Responsibilities

• Assimilation of the different specific data models for each project.
• Digital edition of vector cartography in Esri\'s ArcMap GIS environment, using the tools that Airbus has developed internally for such tasks (Vector Factory).
• Quality control of vector geo-information with Airbus own tools (QC Inspector and QC Sampler).
• Self-assignment of tasks and report of progress and incidents, through the process management tool designed for said functions.

Technical qualification

• Degree in Geography or higher level training cycle in Building and Civil Works, Environment or another related to geo-information.

• Experience in digitalization on satellite or aerial images.
• Experience in editing processes and quality control of vector cartography in GIS environments (preferably ArcMap).

• Computing:
  • User level knowledge of ArcMap for working in 2D and 3D
