Formación

We are looking for a Deputy Laboratory Manager to take responsibility for the laboratories on the IGTP campus. He / she will work to ensure the correct operation and management of the shared research areas in the building. The Deputy Laboratory Manager will be the point of contact between our research laboratories and the institution's administration, as well as official organizations.

The Deputy Laboratory Manager will coordinate the management of the different IGTP buildings / facilities and report to the Lab Manager Unit coordinator.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Ensure the organization of common rooms (cell culture labs, electrophoresis) to maintain quality, efficiency, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  2. Manage access to lab facilities.
  3. Coordinate purchasing and maintenance of shared equipment, including quality control and inspections, to optimize resources and foster synergy.
  4. Implement and maintain software related to laboratory equipment inventory, including guidelines for use and staff training.
  5. Apply and supervise good laboratory practices.
  6. Update emergency protocols, health and safety, and biosecurity measures.
  7. Manage security systems for equipment such as freezers and CO2 tanks.
  8. Oversee proper waste management.
  9. Coordinate general services with technicians, including reagent stocks, material management, Mycoplasma testing, production of competent cells, and cell line authentication.
  10. Introduce new employees to the facilities.
  11. Communicate daily with labs and update lab resources on the intranet.
  12. Organize demonstrations for new equipment for researchers.
  13. Hold regular meetings with technicians.
  14. Manage laboratory notebooks.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
  1. Minimum 3 years of experience as a Lab Manager or equivalent.
  2. Degree in biology, life sciences, or related disciplines.
  3. Understanding of various lab techniques.
  4. Experience in cell culture and genomics is an asset.
  5. Fluent English (protocols and guides are in English).
  6. Proficiency in basic computer tools: Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  7. Teamwork and collaboration skills.
  8. Proactive, responsible, and well-organized.
  9. Willingness to learn and work independently.
  10. Adaptability to user demands.
