Offer Description
CEMFI invites applications for a full-time Research Assistant position (Pre-doc). The research project, funded by Comunidad de Madrid, entitled ATRACCIÓN DE TALENTO INVESTIGADOR “CÉSAR NOMBELA.” (2024-T1 / PH-HUM-31497), led by Professor Kurt Mitman, is focused on understanding how the rise in female labor force participation over the past 60 years has impacted the production of human capital. You will use a combination of statistical analysis working with big data to contribute to the project. The primary tasks in the job consist of managing large amounts of data and programming economic and statistical models in your programming language of choice (e.g. Python, R, Stata). The analysis is quantitative, and the work fluctuates in intensity. The working research language is English, which is required for the position. You will be working with Swedish administrative data, so preference will be given to candidates that have reading proficiency in one of the Scandinavian languages. Due to confidentiality requirements, access to the data needs to take place within the EU. The position will be fully remote.
