Job Description:
We are looking for a Senior Laboratory Technician to join our Translational Genomics Facilities.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Technical activities: QC of nucleic acids; use and configuration of genetic analyzers; configuration and use of liquid dispensing robots for quantification of differential gene expression with techniques based on the use of real-time qPCR and PCR digital; genetic analysis techniques (library preparation and sequencing) using several NGS sequencers; single-cell and single-nucleus separation from different tissues and dedicated library preparation.
- Complementary activities: scientific-technological advice to users of the Platform; writing reports based on the analysis of the results of the different technologies.
- Training activities: attendance at the periodic technical seminars organized by the IGTP aimed at support technicians; presentation of scientific results at international meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Master in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Biomedicine
- Doctoral Degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Biomedicine will be valued
- Knowledge of applied molecular genetics including:
- Nucleic acids quality control and quantification
- NGS library preparation and sequencing on various technological platforms (Illumina, ONT and others)
- Single-cell and single-nucleus preparation, library prep and sequencing
- Knowledge of computer resources associated with NGS sequencing analysis
- Proven experience in the use of digital PCR (dPCR) for genotyping and quantification
- 5 years of experience in a research group or technology platform
- Ability to work independently and in a team, demonstrating initiative and leadership to coordinate and supervise a scientific team
- Specific requirements established by the call or grant, which may not be considered, in any case, as a discriminatory element
- It will be valued the ability to write and implement scientific protocols, write scientific reports and projects, and the ability to evaluate scientific articles and international and national projects
- Previous contribution to scientific knowledge with publications and communications at conferences will be valued
WHAT WE OFFER
- Date of incorporation: May 1, 2025
- Gross annual remuneration inherent to the square objected to this call, will be fixed based on the experience provided and the skills of the candidate, distributed in 12 payments.
- 23 days holiday and 5 days for personal matters + 2 days for Easter + 2 days for Christmas.

The Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP) is a public research centre located in Badalona. Its main objective is to increase scientific knowledge in order to transform it into solutions to improve the health and medical care of patients and the community.
