Job Description:

IGTP requires the incorporation of a post-doctoral researcher to work on the project “Identification of genes and genetic deficits in ataxias and other neurological disorders' at the Neurogenetics Unit led by Dr. Antoni Matilla.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Preparation and quantification of nucleic acids
  • Amplification of nucleic acids by PCR and sequencing preparation by Sanger and mass sequencing technologies using both NGS and ONS.
  • Analysis of experimental data obtained by advanced bioinformatics and databases
  • Biostatistics applied to the analysis of human genes
  • Supervision of students
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Research Field: Biological sciences, Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemist, Human Genetics or similar
  • Required education level: PhD in Human Genetics, Experimental Sciences, Molecular Biology, Neurosciences or similar
  • Languages: Spanish, Catalan, and English at an advanced level.
  • Specific knowledge: Human Genetics, Molecular and Cell Biology, Omics technologies
  • Personal skills: Teamwork, autonomy, motivation, excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Required experience: Proven experience in human molecular genetics, including NGS and bioinformatics for genome data analysis
WHAT WE OFFER
  • Type of contract and working hours: Indefinite contract (contrato indefinido por actividades científico-técnicas, ley de la ciencia 14/2011)
  • Start date: Immediate.
  • Gross annual remuneration inherent to the square objected to this call, will be fixed based on the experience provided and the skills of the candidate, distributed in 12 payments.
  • 23 days of holidays + 5 personal matters per year + 2 days for Easter + 2 days for Christmas.

The Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP) is a public research centre located in Badalona. Its main objective is to increase scientific knowledge in order to transform it into solutions to improve the health and medical care of patients and the community.

The Institute is associated with one of the major university hospitals in the Barcelona area, the Germans Trias i Pujol Hospital, and is part of the Can Ruti biomedical campus. IGTP is a CERCA centre and is also accredited as a centre of excellence by the Instituto de Salud Carlos III (ISCIII) and is in charge of coordinating the management and scientific strategy of the campus, working in close collaboration with the other centres.
