Offer Description

Support in research and development tasks on the FUSIGEMAP project, in particular goals PR1–4.

A Degree in Informatics Engineering, Physics or Mathematics.

Specific Requirements

Particular consideration will be given to candidates with: 1) skills in artificial intelligence, and machine and deep learning; 2) skills in neural network design and training frameworks (Tensorflow/Keras, Pytorch, etc.); 3) skills in incremental/continual learning techniques; 4) Programming skills in C/C++ and/or Python; 5) advanced mathematic skills; 6) availability to travel.

Special consideration will be given to candidates who have taken the Master’s Degree in Intelligent Systems, particularly the applied artificial intelligence and data science specialisations, including those who are yet to sit their master’s thesis viva voce.

Language requeriments

Upper-intermediate spoken and written English (B2).

Prior experience

Experience in artificial intelligence, machine and deep learning, and incremental/continual learning.

Eligibility criteria

• Curricular merits in the field (max. 40 points).
• Qualifications in the specialist area (max. 20 points), other (max. 5 points).
• Video curriculum and, if applicable, personal interview (max. 20 points).
• Experience in the field (max. 15 points). E.g.: > 3 years (10 points), < 3 years (5 points).
• Other merits (max. +5 points). E.g.: recommendation letters.
Eligibility threshold: 60 points.

Candidates who hold the qualification corresponding to the required category in the job offer with a non-EU degree, if selected, must present a certificate of equivalence of their non-EU qualification to a European qualification, or proof of having applied for this equivalence, in order to proceed with their hiring. In accordance with article 8 of the REGULATORY AGREEMENT 145140 of 15th June 2022 that approves the regulation governing the recruitment of research staff under chapter 6 allocation of the university budget, as well as technical or operational research staff.

Selection comitee

i. The relevant Pro-Vice-Chancellor for research (or delegated representative) as chair.
ii. The supervisor (or delegated representative).
iii. The members of the Research Area Assessment Committee (CARAI).
iv. One or more expert members in the topic pertaining to the recruitment and chosen by the chair of the committee, where applicable.
v. The head of FORHU (or delegated representative), as secretary, who may speak but not vote.
