A leading research institution in Spain is seeking a candidate for a research project on neurodegenerative diseases. Responsibilities include participating in lab experiments, handling lab animals, and collecting tissue samples. The successful candidate will take part in a research project into designing molecules for treating neurodegenerative diseases (Alzheimer’s disease and DSAD): participating in project tasks linked to handling lab animals; therapeutic window safety and discovery; therapeutic efficacy studies in transgenic models of neurodegenerative diseases and obtaining nerve tissue samples for subsequent trials; actively participating in lab experiments at molecular/biochemical/cell level with samples collected from animals.

A Degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacy or similar. Particular consideration will be given to candidates having completed or currently taking a Master’s Degree in Biomedicine, Biotechnology, Neuroscience or similar.
Specific Requirements
Certification and accreditation to work with test animals (rodents), and/or granted/requested GOIB certification, are required.
Language requeriments
Particular consideration will be given to candidates with Catalan and Spanish language skills.
Prior experience
Particular consideration will be given to candidates with experience in working with lab animals, behavioural tests, and lab experience in molecular and/or cell biology and biochemistry techniques.

Eligibility criteria
• Curricular merits in the field (max. 40 points).
• Qualifications in the specialist area (max. 20 points), other (max. 5 points).
• Video curriculum and, if applicable, personal interview (max. 20 points).
• Experience in the field (max. 15 points). E.g.: > 3 years (10 points), < 3 years (5 points).
• Other merits (max. +5 points). E.g.: recommendation letters.
Eligibility threshold: 60 points.
Candidates who hold the qualification corresponding to the required category in the job offer with a non-EU degree, if selected, must present a certificate of equivalence of their non-EU qualification to a European qualification, or proof of having applied for this equivalence, in order to proceed with their hiring. In accordance with article 8 of the REGULATORY AGREEMENT 145140 of 15th June 2022 that approves the regulation governing the recruitment of research staff under chapter 6 allocation of the university budget, as well as technical or operational research staff.
