The BASLA research group at The University of Balearic Islands invites applications from highly qualified and motivated researchers for a 12-month post-doctoral position. Although primarily a research appointment, it also involves teaching a Spanish course at the International Centre for Spanish Studies (CIEE UIB). Applicants should hold a PhD.
Specific Requirements
We welcome applications from individuals working in all areas of cognitive science, spanning linguistics, psychology, neuroscience and related fields such as education. The BASLA Research Group (https://www.baslagroup.com/ ) is seeking applicants who are willing to collaboratively and innovatively contribute to developing a recent research project awarded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation (LAUA Project Reference Number: PID2021122127NB-I00 funded by MCIN/AEI/10.13039/501100011033 and ‘ERDF a way of making Europe’). The project explores language attrition and ultimate attainment by bilingual/multilingual populations in a combination of Germanic and Romance languages. Applications should include a cover letter, CV, research statement (no more than two pages), a one-page teaching statement and contact information for three referees. Research statements should specify how applicants’ research will integrate with and benefit from ongoing cognitive science research as part of the aforementioned funded research project. For example, the research statements could tie in with the interests of faculty members in the BASLA Research Group. Language requeriments
English and Spanish. Knowledge of other Germanic and Romance languages would be a plus.
Prior experience
Previous experience in similar post-doctoral positions would be a plus.

Eligibility criteria
• Curricular merits in the field (max. 40 points).
• Qualifications in the specialist area (max. 20 points), other (max. 5 points).
• Video curriculum and, if applicable, personal interview (max. 20 points).
• Experience in the field (max. 15 points). E.g.: > 3 years (10 points), < 3 years (5 points).
• Other merits (max. +5 points). E.g.: recommendation letters.
Eligibility threshold: 60 points.
Candidates who hold the qualification corresponding to the required category in the job offer with a non-EU degree, if selected, must present a certificate of equivalence of their non-EU qualification to a European qualification, or proof of having applied for this equivalence, in order to proceed with their hiring. In accordance with article 8 of the REGULATORY AGREEMENT 145140 of 15th June 2022 that approves the regulation governing the recruitment of research staff under chapter 6 allocation of the university budget, as well as technical or operational research staff.

ii. The supervisor (or delegated representative).
iii. The members of the Research Area Assessment Committee (CARAI).
iv. One or more expert members in the topic pertaining to the recruitment and chosen by the chair of the committee,
where applicable.
v. The head of FORHU (or delegated representative), as secretary, who may speak but not vote.
