Join to apply for the 2025-041-01 Laboratory Technician role at Vall d'Hebron Institute of Oncology (VHIO).

The Vall d´Hebron Institute of Oncology (VHIO) is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join the Tumor Biomarkers Team, led by Josep Villanueva, in the Proteomics Group. The main goal of the laboratory is to characterize mechanisms of communication among cancer cells and their microenvironment during tumorigenesis, aiming to advance biomarker and drug target discovery.

We are looking for an organized, motivated, and team-oriented individual. The successful candidate will support the development of new small-molecule drugs for triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) therapy, involving in silico, in vitro, and in vivo studies to move promising candidates toward clinical application.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Performing and optimizing cell-based concentration response assays in breast cancer cell lines.
  2. Collaborating with computational scientists and validating candidate compounds identified through high-throughput virtual screenings.
Requirements:
  • BSc degree.
  • Minimum two years of experience in molecular and cellular biology techniques in a research lab.
  • Experience in cell culture, Western Blot, and immunofluorescence microscopy.
  • Experience in small molecule drug screening and assay development is a plus.
  • Experience in animal experimentation is a plus.
  • Good communication skills in English.
