Universidade de Vigo in Spain offers a First Stage Researcher (R1) position in Analytical and Food Chemistry focusing on sustainable extraction from macroalgae. The role is temporary and full-time, with 37.5 hours per week.

The project applies green extraction technologies for ingredients across food, feed, cosmetics, textile and packaging sectors, with emphasis on academic training, English proficiency, and ICP-MS related work, ending with a brief interview for top candidates.

Formación

• Item 01: Academic training (punctuation: 20)
• Item 02: Language knowledge: English (punctuation: 15)
• Item 03: Experience in analytical techniques (ICP-MS), chemical risk assessment, sample preparation, and participation in European food safety projects (punctuation: 50)
• Item 04: Personal interview. The interview will be conducted only with those 3 candidates who, in the sum of the merits, reach a minimum of 50 points (punctuation: 15)

Biorefinery for the sustainable extraction of high-value compounds from macroalgae.

Green extraction technologies and a zero-waste approach will be applied to provide ingredients to the food, feed, cosmetics, textile, and packaging materials sectors.

Support work will be carried out in:

• Execution of green extraction processes (HAE, UAE, MAE, PLE).
• Optimization of extraction parameters and statistical treatment.
• Support in the upscaling of extraction processes.
• Development of valorization routes for by-products.
