Job summary

Terma A/S in Søborg, Denmark, is seeking a Test Engineer to help ensure the quality and reliability of our advanced software solutions. You will work on backend and system-level testing, with an emphasis on testability, reliability and maintainability, across CI/CD and test automation initiatives.

You will collaborate with software developers, system engineers and other testers in an Agile environment to deliver high-quality software ready for release.

Qualifications

Your role in our team

As our new Test Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our advanced software solutions. You will work with solutions built from the ground up, giving you a strong understanding of how they work.

In this role, you will Test backend and system-level functionality developed in Core Java, with a strong focus on testability, reliability and quality. You will participate in both test automation and manual testing throughout the development lifecycle, to ensure stability, quality, and maintainability.

You will become part of our Situational Awareness Maritime Defense team, where we value transparency, aligned autonomy, well-structured solutions and take pride in understanding what we build and how we test. We work with sound engineering principles to support clarity and quality in everything we build. There is an increasing focus on CI/CD and multiple levels of test automation, which forms an important part of the role and is carried out in close cooperation with software developers, system engineers, fellow testers, and other technical specialists. How you will make a meaningful contribution

Your responsibilities will cover a wide range of testing activities to ensure the quality and reliability of our software solutions. Your key responsibilities include:

• Review software requirements and specifications.
• Create and maintain test cases and test plans.
• Test new features and existing functionality.
• Execute different flavors of testing e.g. functional, regression, integration, and system testing.
• Identify, document, and track software defects.
• Verify bug fixes and perform re-testing.
• Work closely with developers to resolve issues.
• Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and other Agile meetings.
• Maintain test documentation and provide test status updates.
• Support test automation activities where applicable.
• Ensure software is ready for release by meeting quality standards.

Bring your world class expertise into play

You are fluent in English both in writing and verbal at a professional level. Danish is an advantage but not a requirement. Moreover, we are also looking for a new colleague with the following qualifications:

• You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree within Software Engineering or a similar field of study
• Solid experience in software testing and quality assurance and know how to apply the right testing approach at the right stage of development.
• Preferably you are certified in software testing principles (ISTQB, TMAP, or similar)
• Good understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
• Experience with defect tracking tools such as Jira.
• Experience with Test automation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Good time management and the ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Willingness to learn new tools, technologies, and testing techniques.
• Ability to think critically and identify potential risks and defects.
• Positive attitude, adaptability, and a proactive approach to problem solving.
• You understand agile development methods (Scrum) and project-oriented processes as well as test automation frameworks and tools
