Job description

Job description

Would you like to turn real-world challenges into innovative water technology solutions that can be tested, implemented and scaled?

Water Valley Denmark is looking for a technically minded Project Manager who can identify challenges, develop innovation projects and bring the right partners together to develop and test new solutions.

At Water Valley Denmark, we connect companies, including water-intensive industries, utilities, municipalities and knowledge institutions, to turn real needs and challenges into innovation projects. We match challenges with relevant technologies and expertise and bring the right partners together to develop, test and implement solutions that create tangible value.

Your role

You will play a central role in developing and delivering innovation projects through our Project Engine, covering the entire process from identifying a challenge to project development, consortium building, funding, technical execution, testing, implementation and scaling.

Your key responsibilities include:
  • Identifying and qualifying challenges with companies, knowledge institutions, utilities, municipalities and other stakeholders.
  • Building and prioritising the project pipeline based on strategic relevance, value creation and commercial potential.
  • Developing project concepts and business cases, defining objectives and KPIs, and establishing a strong foundation for project delivery.
  • Building partnerships and consortia by matching challenges with relevant technologies, expertise and knowledge partners.
  • Developing project proposals and identifying funding opportunities, including national and European programmes.
  • Coordinating the testing and demonstration of technologies in relevant operating environments.
  • Monitoring progress and KPIs, documenting results, and identifying opportunities for implementation, commercialisation, and export.
  • Engaging international partners and platforms - to strengthen collaboration, funding opportunities and scaling potential.
Who are you?

We expect you to have a technical or scientific degree and experience in project management, technical consulting, process optimisation or technology development.

You could be an engineer, marine engineer, environmental technologist, technical consultant or another technically oriented professional with relevant experience.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Can understand complex technical challenges and ask the right questions.
  • Has experience managing projects and driving progress from initial ideas to tangible results.
  • Builds strong relationships and brings different disciplines together around shared objectives.
  • Works in a structured way with timelines, milestones and deliverables.
  • Is interested in innovation, emerging technologies and sustainable resource management.
  • Communicates confidently in both Danish and English, verbally and in writing. Fluency in both languages is required.

Experience with technology testing, demonstration projects, funding applications, consortium building or commercialisation is an advantage.

What we offer

At Water Valley Denmark, you will have the opportunity to work on some of the most important challenges in the water sector and help bring new technologies closer to real-world application.

You will join an ambitious innovation environment with a broad network of Danish and international companies, utilities and knowledge institutions.

We offer:
  • A central role in developing and delivering tangible innovation projects.
  • Close collaboration with leading companies and stakeholders across the water sector.
  • The opportunity to work with emerging technologies and real-world testing and demonstration projects.
  • A varied role combining technical project management, business development and partnerships.
  • The opportunity to help bring technologies from identified challenges to testing, implementation, scale-up and export.
Ready to help shape the future of water technology?

If you are motivated by solving real-world challenges, developing new projects and turning technical knowledge into tangible results, we would love to hear from you.
