Job summary

Hamamatsu Photonics A/S is seeking a Technical Project Manager for Quantum Systems to lead the development, assembly, and testing of custom laser system products and prototypes based on ultra-stable fiber lasers. You will interface with sales, support and engineering to provide updates and technical guidance on customer inquiries, while ensuring on-time delivery and high quality.

As part of the Quantum Systems team, you will coordinate multi-disciplinary engineers and production specialists,

The Role:

As a member of our Quantum Systems engineering team, you will lead the development, assembly, and testing of custom laser system products and prototypes based on ultra-stable fiber lasers. You interface with sales and support teams to provide updates on product developments and technical advice on customer enquiries as well as assisting with after sales support and repairs/upgrades. • Lead and manage technical projects from concept to delivery, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met following NKTPs Product and Prototype development processes
• Coordinate cross-functional teams of optical, mechanical and electronics engineers, commercial stake holders, and production specialists to achieve project goals
• Act as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders and external customers, providing clear communication and progress updates
• Develop project plans, risk assessments, and resource allocations to ensure smooth execution
• Support strategic decision-making by providing insights on project feasibility, technical challenges, and customer requirements

More about you:

• A relevant educational qualification (Master level) is required, preferably gained within a photonics research environment
• Strong background in project management within high-tech or engineering environments (ideally in an industrial context)
• Experience with complex, multi-disciplinary projects, ideally in photonics, optics, or quantum technologies.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage stakeholders at all levels.
• Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies (e.g. PRINCE or similar).
• A proactive mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
• Willingness to travel up to 10% annually, potentially globally
