Job summary

Siemens Energy, Inc. is seeking an experienced engineer to lead the Secondary Engineering package, including Protection, Metering, and SCS for offshore wind, PtX and energy transmission projects. You will be involved from bidding through execution and handover to service.

In this role you will collaborate with sales, procurement and international business units, coordinating with suppliers and customers to ensure interfaces and data flows are managed effectively.

Qualifications

• Degree in electrical engineering, automation or similar with 5+ years of design/engineering experience in protection or SCADA.
• Understanding interfaces and data flows between protection/SCADA and other substation systems.
• Proven track record managing scopes in large projects.
• Supplier leadership experience.
• Knowledge of IEC62443 cybersecurity.
• Strong communication skills and English fluency.

Responsibilities

• Lead sub-suppliers delivering full packages or support development of Protection, Metering, and SCS solutions and manage the Secondary Engineering Technical Managers within the sales phase.
• Manage and coordinate project work.
• Facilitate interface management with internal and external collaborators.
• Provide technical input to Procurement during supplier onboarding.
• Work with project managers, network, IT system and Cybersecurity specialists.
• Lead suppliers within assigned budgets and time frames.
• Execute QA of suppliers’ deliverables.

Job description

A Snapshot of Your Day

You will lead the Secondary Engineering package including the Protection, Metering, and SCS scope for offshore wind, PtX and energy transmission projects. That means you will be involved from the bidding process, all the way through the project execution and the project is handed over to service.

You will simultaneously work in sales opportunities and projects. Besides the sales and project teams, you will have a close collaboration with our sales department, procurement function as well as our international business unit.

How you will make an impact:

• Depending on the project either lead sub-suppliers delivering full packages or support the development of Protection, Metering, and SCS solutions and manage the Secondary Engineering Technical Managers within the sales phase, including coordination with other members of the sales team, suppliers, and customers.
• Manage and coordinate project work.
• Facilitate interface management in the project both for internal and external collaborators.
• Provide technical input and support to Procurement team within the selection and onboarding process of suppliers.
• Work proactively in close cooperation with overall project managers as well as other technical project managers and specialists, i.e., network, IT system and Cybersecurity.
• Lead and manage suppliers in compliance with Employer’s Requirements, assigned project budget and time frame.
• Execute detailed QA of suppliers’ projects deliverables.

What you bring:

• Degree in electrical engineering, automation or similar combined with 5+ years of experience in designing, engineering, testing and commissioning either Protection or SCADA systems.
• Detailed understanding of interfaces and data flows between protection or SCADA systems and other substation systems, e.g. auxiliary systems, control systems and networks.
• Experience and a proven track record of managing scopes in large projects.
• Proven supplier leadership skills.
• Knowledge of Cybersecurity applied in accordance IEC62443.
• Project and customer oriented combined with strong written and oral communication skills for co-working with technical as well as non-technical colleagues and stakeholders.
• Fluency in English is a requirement
