Job summary

Nordea is seeking an experienced Tech Lead to join our Data Mesh and AI Platforms team. You will shape and deliver cloud and AI platform capabilities across AWS, GCP, and Azure, enabling secure, scalable data and AI solutions in a banking environment.

The role combines hands-on engineering with leadership, focusing on automation, platform provisioning, and strong security patterns, with hybrid work up to 40% remote. The position is based in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of cloud/platform engineering leadership.
• Experience designing production‑grade platform capabilities across AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Terraform and IaC essential; strong automation and CI/CD.
• Security-focused IAM, identity integration, and platform security patterns.
• Excellent communication to present decisions to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Set the engineering direction for our AI platform capabilities, ensuring strong architectural integrity, scalability, and operational resilience.
• Lead by example with hands-on engineering work across cloud infrastructure, platform automation, CI/CD, provisioning, and reusable infrastructure-as-code patterns.
• Design and mature secure platform foundations across AWS, GCP, and Azure, including identity provider integration, access patterns, network/security controls, and observability.
• Drive pragmatic adoption of AI platform services such as AWS Bedrock, AgentCore, Google Gemini, and Azure AI Foundry, ensuring they can be used safely in a banking-grade environment.
• Coach engineers, foster engineering best practices, and help build a strong platform engineering culture focused on automation, repeatability, quality, and developer experience.
• Collaborate with product owners, data scientists, architects, cybersecurity, and governance teams to align technical decisions with business priorities and regulatory expectations.
• Own and communicate the technical roadmap, balancing speed, scalability, cost, compliance, and operational reliability.
• Translate technical complexity into clear recommendations, decision points, and status updates for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
