Job summary

Nordea is seeking a Platform Engineer to design, build and operate our enterprise AI Gateway. You will extend API platforms to support LLM, MCP, and A2A patterns, with automation to ensure reliability, reusability, and production readiness.

The role is hands-on, collaborating with architects, security, risk, and compliance teams in a regulated banking environment. Hybrid work up to 40% remote; location options include Copenhagen, Denmark, and other Nordea hubs.

Qualifications

Hands-on engineering experience with API platforms and gateways in enterprise environments.
Strong knowledge of Terraform and infrastructure-as-code practices.
Experience with Kubernetes and Helm charts for deploying gateway components.
Proficiency in Python and Lua for Kong plugins.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, source control, and automated release practices.

Responsibilities

Design, build and operate AI Gateway capabilities based on API platform engineering practices.
Implement secure gateway patterns for LLM access and A2A integrations.
Develop infrastructure-as-code and automate provisioning of gateway components.
Enhance CI/CD pipelines, source control workflows, and release practices for gateway changes.
Set up and automate gateway policies for governed, developer-friendly access.
Create Kong plugins using Lua and Python for custom capabilities.
Integrate AI Gateway with identity providers for authN/authZ.
Establish logging, monitoring and alerting with Splunk/Prometheus/Grafana.
Support FinOps visibility and cost control for gateway usage.
Assist onboarding of new use cases and contribute to platform docs.
