Job summary

Nordea is seeking experienced GCP Cloud Engineers to join the Data Mesh and AI Platforms team in a hybrid role with up to 40% remote work. You will design, build, test, and improve GCP platform patterns, automation, and controls to enable secure data and AI solutions in a regulated banking environment.

You'll work with product owners, engineers, architects, cybersecurity, governance, and cloud platform teams to deliver reusable, secure infrastructure and provisioning patterns.

Qualifications

• Experience building production-grade infrastructure on GCP.
• Strong Terraform and automation experience with reusable modules.
• Solid understanding of cloud networking, IAM, security controls, and monitoring.
• Experience with CI/CD tools and modern software practices (code review, version control, testing, docs).
• Interest in Vertex AI, BigQuery, Dataflow and related platform capabilities.
• Ability to work in a regulated enterprise environment with compliance and auditability.

Responsibilities

• Build, configure and improve GCP infrastructure foundations using Terraform and automated pipelines.
• Create reusable IaC modules for projects, networking, IAM, secrets, and policy guardrails.
• Support secure GCP landing-zone patterns, including Shared VPC and environment isolation.
• Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines for provisioning, testing, deployment and lifecycle management.
• Implement identity and access patterns: federation, workload identity, least-privilege IAM.
• Support GCP data and AI platform enablement (Vertex AI, BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Cloud Composer).
• Build observability and operational controls using Cloud Logging/Monitoring, dashboards, runbooks, and run readiness checks.
• Translate platform priorities into backlog items, engineering tasks, and technical docs.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity, governance and architecture teams on security/compliance.
• Contribute to code reviews, pattern reviews and ongoing improvements of the GCP platform engineering experience.
