NKT Photonics a Hamamatsu Company is seeking a Finance Student Assistant to turn financial data into actionable insights. You will build data-driven dashboards using Power BI, Snowflake and Alteryx while collaborating with finance and IT teams.

Fluency in English is required, and you will engage with stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable reports that drive business decisions across the organization in life-science and energy projects.

Responsibilities

As a Finance Student Assistant, you will be transforming numbers into insights by working intensively within Power BI, Snowflake and Alteryx. You will find yourself being a key player in the journey of transforming NKT Photonics into a data driven organization that creates value through data driven decision making.

You will soon find yourself engaged as a key person, transforming business requirements from finance management and other stakeholders into dynamic dashboards covering financial numbers and other key information.

To succeed here, you will have worked with- and understand financial data and the process of transforming this into valuable and scalable reports using Power BI, Snowflake and Alteryx technology.

You thrive with interacting with different stakeholders and understand how to navigate between languages used by end-users, management, and IT- and data professionals.

• Continue to drive our journey of making data come alive from working with raw data to secure end-user satisfaction working with the final dashboards in Power BI
• Gathering and prioritizing requirements and making sure data are available in the existing data model in close interaction with the business- and IT team
• Developing and maintaining dashboards using the right visualizations and calculating the measures using Snowflakes, Alteryx and PowerBI
• Keeping yourself up-to-day with new Power BI technology and ways of storytelling with data and visualizations for business professionals
• Collaborate with the IT-team on data related projects and improving the process of data transformation
• Act as the primary point of contact for support and improvements requests within your team.

In you, we hope to find

• Ability to define and implement KPI’s within the finance area using Power BI. Experience with Power BI specifically is required
• Experience with Snowflake and potentially Alteryx
• Experience with D365 is an advantage
• Very good interpersonal skills and full of energy
• Efficient problem-solving skills looking to find practical answers to complex issues
• Strong experience within story telling – ability to tell the complex story in an easy and understandable way
• Highly accountable with a collaborative and proactive working style
• Support Business Finance with updating presentations and spreadsheets with numbers and charts for our executive management reporting
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills being able to link that to Power BI.
• A curios mindset to explore data for business improvements and to create insights into how we can improve our business model
• Transforming requirement to user friendly Power BI-solutions
• Task management skills and the availability of estimates of what it takes getting from requirement to solution
• Experience from a finance department or working with dataset from a financial perspective (e.g., consultancy or auditing company) is an advantage
• You are a proactive team player on a tactical and operational level of our company. As such, we all work hands-on for relevant tasks, and we all have a deep technical understanding of the area each of us is working with at NKT Photonics.
• Fluency in English is required.
