Job summary

BRIC – University of Copenhagen invites applications for a Staff Scientist position in Molecular Biology in the Cvejic Lab, with a start date of January 1, 2027 or soon thereafter. The role focuses on dissecting molecular mechanisms of human HSC development using cutting-edge approaches and primary human tissue.

The successful candidate will contribute to collaborative research, publish high-quality work, and mentor new lab members, while thriving in a dynamic international environment at BRIC.

Qualifications

  • Extensive, hands-on experience in multi-colour flow cytometry.
  • Strong background in cell culture, molecular biology techniques, CRISPR-based approaches.
  • Solid foundation in cell biology.
  • Highly organised, with excellent prioritisation and multitasking skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in establishing and troubleshooting new experimental methods.
  • PhD in life sciences or a related field.
  • Strong research and publication track record.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

  • Perform experiments using primary tissue and cells across multiple platforms, including molecular biology, multi-colour flow cytometry, single-cell genomics, and histology.
  • Prepare single-cell multiome libraries, coordinate sequencing, and conduct flow cytometry-based cell sorting.
  • Write and maintain detailed, reproducible experimental protocols.
  • Train and mentor new lab members in core techniques.
  • Establish new methodologies in the lab by adapting and optimising published protocols.
  • Collaborate closely with biologists, clinicians, and bioinformaticians within and outside the group to advance shared scientific goals.
