Job summary

Københavns Universitet invites applications for a Staff Scientist (AC-TAP) in Biomolecular Sciences at the Department of Biology. You will contribute to research, supervise students and teach on molecular biology and protein science projects.

The position is permanent and starts January 1, 2027, with 37 hours per week and a pension-inclusive salary arrangement. The department offers modern facilities and an international, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in Biochemistry or related area.
• Documented experience in protein expression in E. coli, protein purification, SDS-PAGE/Western blot, bioinformatics or structural biology, molecular cloning.
• Experience with cell culture, flow cytometry/FACS, and high-throughput screening is desirable.
• Proven ability to plan and execute research projects in the lab.
• Good English skills, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Conduct diverse molecular biology and protein chemistry experiments.
• Collaborate across groups and integrate computational and experimental approaches.
• Provide technical support to ongoing projects and troubleshoot experiments.
• Organize lab teaching and contribute to undergraduate course activities.
• Share best practices and train colleagues and students; handle lab safety and procurement tasks.
