Job summary

Based in Billund, LEGO Group is seeking an early-career engineer to support sourcing activities for HBW and automated logistics across our manufacturing network. You will collaborate with engineering, manufacturing and procurement teams to translate technical needs into supplier inputs.

Qualifications

  • A degree in engineering, automation, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, logistics, supply chain or related technical field.
  • 2–4 years of relevant experience (≤ 4 years) from engineering, project management, manufacturing procurement, sourcing or related work.
  • Strong interest in automated logistics, warehouse automation and material handling systems.
  • Good analytical skills with data, ability to compare supplier offers and prepare decision materials.
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn procurement fundamentals, including sourcing processes and contract follow-up.
  • Ability to collaborate with technical and commercial stakeholders in a structured and proactive way.
  • Good communication skills and proficiency in English (written and spoken).
  • Growth mindset, high integrity and motivation to build procurement expertise in an international environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support HBW and automated logistics sourcing activities, including supplier research, RFQ prep, evaluation support and contract administration.
  • Partner with engineering, manufacturing and procurement to translate technical requirements into supplier inputs.
  • Contribute to supplier market analysis across conveyors, AGVs, AS/RS, shuttle systems, robotics and related services.
  • Prepare data, cost comparisons, supplier performance insights and decision materials for category managers.
  • Participate in supplier meetings, clarifications and negotiation prep to grow procurement capabilities.
  • Support purchase process compliance, documentation, risk follow-up and stakeholder communications.
  • Bring fresh engineering thinking and structured problem-solving to sourcing and implementation.

Core Responsibilities

As Sourcing Specialist, HBW and Automated Logistics, you will support procurement activities for a strategically important and fast-growing category covering High Bay Warehouse (HBW), material handling and automated logistics solutions. You will work closely with experienced procurement colleagues, engineering teams and suppliers to help deliver automation projects across our manufacturing network. To be more specific, you will:

  • Support sourcing activities for HBW and automated logistics projects, including supplier research, request for quotation preparation, evaluation support and contract administration.
  • Partner with engineering, manufacturing and procurement colleagues to understand technical requirements and translate them into clear supplier and sourcing inputs.
  • Contribute to supplier market analysis across automated logistics technologies such as conveyors, AGVs, AS/RS, shuttle systems, robotics, controls, software and related services.
  • Help prepare data, cost comparisons, supplier performance insights and decision materials to support category managers and project teams.
  • Take part in supplier meetings, technical clarifications and negotiation preparation, building your commercial and procurement capabilities over time.
  • Support purchase process compliance, documentation, risk follow-up and stakeholder communication across ongoing sourcing projects.
  • Bring fresh engineering thinking, curiosity and structured problem-solving to help improve how we source and implement automated logistics solutions.

Based in Billund, Denmark, you will join the Indirect Materials & Services (IM&S) Procurement organization. IM&S spans multiple spend areas across the enterprise and is responsible for sourcing products and services that enable our global operations, including facilities, IT/Digital, professional services, travel, distribution, logistics and other indirect procurement categories.

The HBW and Automated Logistics category plays a central role in delivering capacity expansion, automation, resilience and productivity across our global manufacturing network. In this role, you will have the opportunity to learn sourcing and category management in a technical environment while contributing to real projects that support the next generation of LEGO factories.

Do you have what it takes?

To be successful in this position, we imagine that you are an engineer early in your career, with a strong interest in procurement, automation, supply chain or manufacturing technology. Moreover, you have:

  • MUST: A degree in engineering, automation, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, logistics, supply chain or a related technical field.
  • MUST: 2–4 years of relevant experience (<= 4 years' experience), ideally from engineering, project management, manufacturing procurement, sourcing, automation-related work.
  • A strong interest in automated logistics, warehouse automation, material handling systems, capital equipment or technical supplier collaboration.
  • Good analytical skills, with the ability to work with data, compare supplier offers and prepare clear decision support materials.
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn procurement fundamentals, including sourcing processes, supplier evaluation, negotiation preparation and contract follow-up.
  • Ability to collaborate with technical and commercial stakeholders in a structured and proactive way.
  • Good communication skills and proficiency in English, written and spoken.
  • A growth mindset, high integrity and motivation to build procurement expertise in an international environment.
