Job summary

BeGreen in Copenhagen is seeking a commercially minded Sourcing Specialist to drive end-to-end sourcing and contracting for solar, hybrid, and battery storage projects in Denmark, collaborating with international suppliers.

You will work with Project Management, Engineering, Construction, Sustainability, Cyber Security, HSE, and Legal to optimize value, manage RFQs, tenders, and supplier onboarding, while developing category strategies for renewable energy.

Qualifications

• Sourcing and commercial experience - ideally with exposure to solar, BESS, hybrid energy, wind, or other renewables technologies.
• Interest in renewable energy suppliers, EPC contractors and technology providers
• Motivation to understand the commercial and technical dynamics of utility-scale renewables projects
• Experience from complex project environments with multi-stakeholder interfaces
• Exposure to long-term contracts, framework agreements and supplier performance management

Responsibilities

• Lead and support end-to-end competitive tenders for major renewable energy packages, including planning, evaluation, negotiation, and contract award
• Develop and contribute to sourcing strategies for solar parks, hybrid plants, and battery energy storage systems
• Support supplier assessments, pricing benchmarks, and market research to inform sourcing decisions
• Lead and participate in commercial negotiations with energy suppliers and contractors
• Independently manage lower-value, lower-complexity purchasing activities (RFQs, call-offs, POs)
• Help prepare decision-making materials, including total cost of ownership analyses
• Support early contract management activities, including supplier onboarding and risk assessments
• Gather market intelligence on renewable energy supply chains to support category strategies

Job description

The right suppliers and the right contracts can make or break a renewable energy project. As our new Sourcing Specialist, that is exactly what you will help us get right – across solar, hybrid, and energy storage projects in Denmark, working with international suppliers.

We are looking for a commercially minded Sourcing Specialist with an interest in renewables to support sourcing activities and commercial contracting across solar, hybrid, and energy storage projects based in Denmark, with exposure to international suppliers and projects.

About the role

You will support and drive sourcing strategies, supplier engagement, and contract execution across the full renewable energy project lifecycle. Working closely with senior colleagues and cross-functionally with Project Management, Engineering, Construction, Sustainability, Cyber Security, HSE, and Legal to ensure that commercial decisions drive project performance and long-term value.

You will build hands-on knowledge of the renewables market - its key suppliers, technology trends, cost drivers, and contractual complexities – and grow into taking on more responsibility over time. You'll get exposure to large EPC tenders, BESS supply agreements, and contractor evaluations by working alongside senior sourcing colleagues.

Alongside large and complex tenders, you will take ownership of lower-value purchases, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and speed without compromising quality or governance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and contribute to sourcing strategies specifically tailored to solar parks, hybrid plants, and battery energy storage systems
• Support supplier assessments, pricing benchmarks, and market research to inform sourcing decisions
• Lead and take part in commercial negotiations with energy suppliers and contractors, building upon your negotiation and risk-management skills
• Independently manage lower-value, lower-complexity purchasing activities (RFQs, call-offs, POs)
• Help prepare decision-making materials, including total cost of ownership analysis with a clear understanding of energy project cost structures
• Support early contract management activities, including supplier onboarding, performance tracking, and risk assessments
• Help gather and organize market intelligence on renewable energy supply chains to support category strategies.

What you bring

We are looking for someone with a commercial background and sourcing experience, and we particularly value:

• Sourcing and commercial experience - ideally with exposure to solar, BESS, hybrid energy, wind, or other renewable technologies
• An interest in building knowledge of key renewable energy suppliers, EPC contractors, and technology providers
• Motivation to understand the commercial and technical dynamics of utility-scale renewable projects.
• Experience in conventional energy, oil & gas, transmission, or large-scale infrastructure procurement
• Experience from complex project environments with multi-stakeholder commercial interfaces
• Exposure to long‑term contracts, framework agreements, and supplier performance management.

In addition, you bring:

• Confidence in leading negotiations and managing commercial interfaces
• A structured, proactive, and ownership-driven approach to work, with an eager-to-learn approach to work
• Strong stakeholder management and clear communication skills
• Knowledge of EU procurement regulations (Utilities Directive) or the motivation to build it
• Fluency in English; proficiency in Danish or Swedish is a plus
• Relocation packages are not available for this role and a valid Danish work- and residence permit is a precondition.
