Job summary

Salling Group is seeking a Solution Engineer to join the Sales team at our Aarhus HQ. You will bridge business analysts, solution architects and developers, turning business needs into solid technical solutions. You will ensure technical perspectives are integrated early and help shape how solutions are designed.

You don’t have to be a programmer, but you should speak the language of software and be comfortable discussing APIs, data and integrations with both business and tech stakeholders.

Then we might be looking for you!

We are looking for a Solution Engineer with a solid technical foundation to join our Sales team. In this role, you will act as a technical link between our Business Analysts, Solution Architect, stakeholders and developers. You will help turn business needs into well-defined and technically sound solutions and ensure that technical perspectives are brought into the process early.

You do not need to be a software developer – but you should be comfortable speaking the same language as one.

The work is primarily on site in our HQ in Aarslev.

What We Offer

The Sales team is responsible for solutions supporting sales across all Salling Group stores. This covers all Point of Sale (POS) channels, including manned and self-checkout tills, portable checkout, omnichannel and similar. We are also heavily involved in the Salling Group’s Loyalty solution and other customer-facing sales solutions. We work closely with the business, but also with as internal and external development partners.

Our team consists of colleagues with strong business and process knowledge, and we are looking to strengthen the technical perspective within the team.

You will have the opportunity to influence how we design and develop our solutions and how we collaborate across business and technology.

Your role

• Act as a technical link between Business Analysts, Solution Architect and software developers
• Bring a technical perspective into refinement of business needs and requirements
• Challenge requirements and proposed solutions to ensure they are technically feasible, maintainable and valuable
• Collaborate with developers to explore and qualify technical solutions based on business needs
• Investigate technical possibilities and help the team make informed solution decisions
• Contribute to improving how we work with requirements, solution design and software development

Your Experience & Personal Profile

We are looking for someone with a strong technical curiosity and a solid understanding of software development.

You may have studied IT Architecture, Software Engineering, Computer Science or something similar. You may also have gained your technical foundation through professional experience or your own projects.

You understand how modern software solutions are built and are comfortable discussing topics such as APIs, integrations, data, frontend/backend technologies and software architecture. Being able to read or write code is an advantage, but coding will not be your primary responsibility.

You enjoy diving into complex problems and bringing structure and clarity to them. At the same time, you are approachable and collaborative and can communicate technical topics to colleagues without a technical background.

You do not necessarily have years of experience. We are equally interested in your technical foundation, curiosity and eagerness to learn.

Besides the above, you will also help maintain and support existing applications, ensuring reliability and timely support, as well as improving application performance, integration reliability and security.
