Job summary

Terma Group is seeking a Java Software Engineer to develop robust backend and system-level software for advanced maritime defense systems. You will design, implement, and maintain components across their lifecycle in Core Java, focusing on performance, reliability, and collaboration with cross-disciplinary teams.

You will work within the Sensors & Detection team, leveraging object-oriented design, SOLID principles, and testing practices to deliver high-quality software for mission-critical

Qualifications

• Experience developing software in Java and the Core Java ecosystem.
• Worked with multithreading, concurrency, and synchronization.
• Experience building performance-critical, real-time, or highly concurrent systems.
• Experience designing modular, maintainable, and testable software solutions.
• Experience with Java testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito, and tools like Git and Maven.
• Experience with TCP/IP and UDP communication, Java Swing, CI/CD tools, or high-reliability environments.

• Strong foundation in object-oriented design and SOLID principles.
• Work extensively with multithreading and performance-critical code.

Your role as part of the team

As our new Java Software Engineer, you will play a key role in developing robust software solutions for advanced maritime defense systems. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain backend and system-level functionality in Core Java, taking ownership of components throughout their lifecycle and ensuring high quality, performance, and reliability. • Have worked with Java testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito, as well as development tools such as Git and Maven.
• Have experience with TCP/IP and UDP communication, Java Swing, CI/CD tools, or software development in high-reliability environments.
