Terma is seeking an Experienced Systems Engineer in Denmark to design, develop, document, test, and implement complex systems from concept to delivery. Your role as part of the team

As our new Systems Engineer, you will design, develop, document, test, and implement complex systems from concept to delivery. Working across the full value chain, you will translate customer needs into robust technical solutions, collaborate with national and international stakeholders, support the integration and verification of systems at customer sites, and act as a role model and a mentor for less experienced Systems Engineers.

In our team, we take pride in developing people and technology. You will become part of a multidisciplinary team consisting of approximately 5 Systems Engineers, 8 Software Engineers, and 6 Data Scientists working closely together to deliver advanced defense solutions. How you will make a meaningful contribution

In this role, you will contribute to a range of tasks across your area of responsibility. Your key responsibilities include:

• Plan and coordinate systems engineering activities across projects in a large NATO program, including task estimation, delivery planning, and execution follow-up


• Work closely with software architects, developers, and data scientists to design, verify, and deliver robust technical solutions


• Prepare clear, user-friendly documentation and participate in testing, verification, and validation activities, including on-site testing in Denmark and other NATO countries


• Translate customer requirements into practical, high-quality technical solutions by gathering needs through workshops and maintaining clear written and verbal communication with stakeholders


• Contribute to team alignment by sharing knowledge and best practices with fellow systems engineers, while handling classified information in accordance with Danish and/or NATO security clearance requirements

To thrive in this role, we imagine that you bring some of the following qualifications:

• A degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, combined with experience in system development, preferably within systems engineering


• Experience with technical planning, coordination, and test planning and execution


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complex system challenges and develop practical solutions in collaboration with software development teams


• Strong communication, technical writing, and documentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively


• The ability to work successfully in interdisciplinary teams and adapt to evolving project needs and priorities

Preferred, but not required, qualifications

• Familiarity with INCOSE principles and the V-model


• Experience with AI and machine learning


• Exposure to systems modelling or architectural frameworks.


• Project management experience


• Familiarity with Linux operating systems and virtualization


• Familiarity with programming or scripting languages such as Java or Python.
