Job summary

Terma Group is seeking a Systems Engineer for Maritime Projects to define technical solutions and own system areas from concept to delivery. You will lead engineering decisions, ensure alignment with architecture, and drive MBSE-driven development across software, hardware and interfaces.

You will join a team of 14 System Engineers, engaging in proposal work, estimates, and ongoing collaboration to deliver defense-grade systems. English fluency required and international work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science, Physics, or another relevant technical discipline.
• Solid background in systems engineering and working with Technically complex products.
• Experience in maritime, aerospace, defense or safety-critical industries is advantageous.
• Experience with systems engineering methodologies, requirements engineering, system architecture, MBSE/INCOSE, interface technologies, distributed software systems, networking, sensor integration, and safety-critical systems.
• Experience with technical leadership, proposal development, defense standards, Linux, and MIL-STDs is advantageous.

• Collaborate across engineering disciplines to ensure integrated system designs.
• Act as technical owner for one or more system areas ensuring consistency across software, hardware and requirements.

Your role as part of the team

As a Systems Engineer within Maritime Projects, you will play a key role in defining technical solutions for some of our advanced defense systems. You will take ownership of technical decisions within assigned system areas while ensuring alignment with the overall system architecture. Throughout the product lifecycle, from early concept and proposal work to development, integration, verification, and customer delivery, you will drive systems engineering activities and help shape the best overall solutions. In our team, we take pride in developing people and technology. You will become part of a team of 14 System Engineers focused on Maritime projects. As one of the first points of contact for new projects entering the Integrated Product Development department, the team supports project clarification and Sales activities. In this role, you will contribute to a range of tasks across your area of responsibility. Your key responsibilities include:

• Collaborating across engineering disciplines and stakeholders to ensure integrated system designs
• Acting as technical owner for one or more system areas, ensuring technical consistency across software, hardware and operational requirements
• Defining/supporting system architecture, requirements engineering, trade studies, and technical decision-making
• Contributing to proposal work, engineering estimates, and technical planning
• Helping improve engineering processes, methods, and collaboration across the organization.

To thrive in this role, we imagine that you bring some of the following qualifications:

• You likely hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science, Physics, or another relevant technical discipline
• You have a solid background in systems engineering and enjoy working with technically complex products
• Experience within maritime, aerospace, defense, or other safety-critical industries is an advantage, but more important is your ability to understand complex systems and collaborate across disciplines
• Experience with systems engineering methodologies, requirements engineering, system architecture, MBSE/INCOSE, interface technologies, distributed software systems, networking, sensor integration, and safety-critical systems is considered a significant advantage
• Experience with technical leadership, proposal development, defense standards, Linux, and relevant industry standards such as MIL-STDs is an advantage.
