Job summary

What matters to us is that you are open to learning, willing to try and comfortable to step into new challenges.At SimCorp, we support some of the largest financial institutions in the world to be successful by simplifying their investments, accounting and operations.Accounting is a unit within SimCorp’s Product Division which delivers all rules and calculation methods in order to provide our clients with a legally binding subledger for all supported asset classes.**WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR*** Develop and maintain features in the Accounting product areas.* Contribute across the entire development lifecycle - from requirements analysis and design to implementation, test automation, documentation, and ongoing support.* Collaborate closely with teammates, Product Managers, and Architects to deliver high-quality and secure solutions.* Create, document and maintain test cases and automated tests to cover the features’ acceptance criteria (system, integration, unit etc.)* Uphold engineering best practices and contribute to continuous improvement.* Learn deeply about our Accounting domain and understand how our products support customer outcomes.* Be open to feedback, mentorship, and knowledge sharing in your team.**YOUR SKILLS**Most importantly, you can see yourself contributing and thriving in the position described above. How you gained the skills needed for doing that is less important. We expect you to be good at several of the following and be able to - and interested in - learn the rest.* Confident in software engineering fundamentals, including algorithms and data structures.* Willingness to learn and work with in-house tools and frameworks, especially the APL programming language.* Proficiency in at least one object-oriented or functional programming language (C# is a benefit).* Familiarity with modern engineering tools and practices, including CI/CD and trunk-based development.* Experience working with relational databases and SQL.* Readiness to work in a complex accounting domain, dealing with financial and investment-related instruments.* Good English skills (upper-intermediate or higher), both written and spoken.* Experience with cloud technologies and fintech domain is a plus.**WHAT IS IT LIKE TO WORK HERE**SimCorp plans work in an agile manner, using 4 planning intervals (PI’s) per year, each consisting of 5 sprints of 2 weeks each, followed by a 3-week Innovation and Planning sprint, which can be used for mastering skills in various areas, or more freely investigating ideas with prototypes.
