Job summary

SimCorp is seeking a Lead IT Auditor to lead and execute IT audits across business units, assessing internal controls, IT security, and regulatory compliance. The role requires 7+ years of auditing experience, strong cross-domain IT knowledge, and professional certifications preferred.

You will collaborate with IT and business teams, prepare detailed reports, and drive remediation actions in a hybrid work setup.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Computer Science, Information Security or similar field.
  • 7+ years of practical IT auditing experience.
  • Strong cross-domain IT knowledge: networks, OS, information security, SDLC, cloud (MS Azure).
  • Familiarity with CSA-CCM, ITIL, COBIT, BSI IT Grundschutz, NIST, CIS-18, ISO/IEC 27000.
  • Certifications such as CISA, CISM, CISSP or CIA preferred.
  • Strong analytical, structured thinking and communication skills.
  • Fluent English and good interpersonal communication.

  • Evaluate IT processes, applications, and systems for policy and regulatory compliance.
  • Identify IT risks, vulnerabilities, and control gaps; provide actionable mitigations.

As Lead IT Auditor at SimCorp, you will be responsible for leading and executing IT audits to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, information security systems, and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. This role involves assessing IT infrastructure, systems, and processes to identify vulnerabilities and areas for improvement. The Lead / Principal IT Auditor works closely with business units and senior leadership to test whether IT risks are managed effectively, and that the organization’s technology systems support its compliance and operational objectives.

In an IT organization like SimCorp, the Lead / Principal IT Auditor promotes collaboration among business, information security, risk management, and Internal Audit. By conducting risk-based audits and identifying relevant issues, the auditor enhances IT governance, risk management, and business resilience, ensuring compliance with policies and industry standards while promoting continuous improvement and accountability

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
  • Lead and execute IT audits across various business units to assess the effectiveness of internal controls and the security of IT systems and infrastructure
  • Evaluate IT processes, applications, and systems for compliance with internal policies, regulatory standards, and industry best practices
  • Identify and assess IT risks, vulnerabilities, and control gaps, providing actionable recommendations for mitigation and improvement
  • Collaborate with IT teams and business units to ensure that audit findings are addressed and corrective actions are implemented effectively
  • Prepare detailed audit reports documenting findings, recommendations, and action plans, and present these reports to senior leadership
  • Monitor and track the implementation of corrective actions from prior audits to assess improvements implemented by the business and issues are resolved in a timely manner
  • Ensure that audits are conducted in alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements concerning audit of IT-related risks
  • Assist in developing audit plans, schedules, and priorities, ensuring audits are conducted in line with organizational objectives
  • Assist in developing and refining audit methodologies, tools, and processes to improve IT audit practices
  • Stay current on emerging IT risks, regulatory changes, and audit standards to ensure that audit practices remain effective and relevant
  • Provide guidance and support to junior auditors, supporting their development in IT auditing and auditing standards

  • Strong cross-domain IT knowledge, including network technology, operating systems, Information Security, SDLC, cloud (MS Azure)
  • Solid knowledge of common IT and security standards such as CSA-CCM, ITIL, COBIT, BSI IT Grundschutz, NIST, CIS-18 and ISO/IEC 27000 series
  • Relevant professional certification such as CISA, CISM, CISSP or CIA preferred
  • High analytical skills, methodical know-how and conceptual understanding of complex matters
  • Fluent English and effective interpersonal communication abilities
