Job summary

You will define technical solutions, perform testing and releases, and contribute to documentation, feasibility studies, and customer-facing tasks.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree and 3+ years in software and embedded development.
• Experience with C, C++, C#, Structured Text (IEC 61131-3), VBA, TCP/IP, CAN, Modbus.
• Familiarity with embedded processors and PLCs; knowledge of sensors/actuators is a plus.
• Solid problem-solving skills and analytical approach.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain embedded firmware, PLC software, and supporting applications for pavement testing equipment and related systems.
• Design and optimize software architectures, interfaces, and existing codebases for performance, reliability, maintainability, and scalability.
• Plan, execute, and document testing, validation activities, and software releases to meet requirements.
• Maintain clear technical documentation covering software design, system changes, and test results.
• Support customer projects with feasibility assessments, solution development, and recommendations.

Your work at Dynatest

Based at our headquarter in Ballerup, you will join our growing software team, reporting to the Software Manager. You will work across the full stack—from embedded processors and PLCs, signal processing, communication protocols, and computer vision to higher-level software applications that interact with our machines. You will help define technical solutions and estimates for new hardware and software implementations, develop test procedures and specifications, and provide technical guidance to ensure robust, reliable, and maintainable solutions. The role also includes participation in customer-specific tasks to assess feasibility, identify optimal solutions, estimate costs and implementation effort, and report recommendations to the Software Manager.

As our Software & Embedded Engineer your assignments would be:

• Develop and maintain embedded firmware, PLC software, and supporting applications for pavement testing equipment and related systems
• Design and optimize software architectures, communication interfaces, and existing codebases to ensure performance, reliability, maintainability, and scalability
• Plan, execute, and document testing, validation activities, and software releases to ensure solutions meet technical and quality requirements
• Maintain clear and structured technical documentation covering software design, system changes, engineering decisions, and test results
• Support customer projects through technical clarification, feasibility assessments, solution development, and technical recommendations
• Collaborate across functions while contributing to engineering standards, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Engineering degree in Automation, Electrical, Software, Mechatronics, or similar
• 3+ years of professional experience in software and embedded development
• Experience with several of the following: C, C++, C#, Structured Text (IEC 61131-3), VBA, communication protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, CAN, Modbus), signal processing, computer vision, Git and Jira (or similar)
• Solid problem-solving skills and an analytical, structured approach
• Experience with embedded processors and PLCs; familiarity with industrial sensors/actuators is an advantage
