Job summary

Imperium Commodity Search in Copenhagen is seeking an experienced Tanker Chartering Shipbroker (Suezmax/Aframax) to lead spot and period charters with a direct payout structure, driving revenue growth from a newly established European desk.

You will build and manage relationships with shipowners, trading houses, oil majors and supply chain operators across Europe and globally, contributing to strategic growth and leadership potential within the Copenhagen tanker charter desk.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in Tanker Chartering (Suezmax and/or Aframax) within a ship brokerage environment.
• Established network of shipowners, charterers and trading counterparties.
• Proven track record executing tanker fixtures and generating revenue.
• Strong commercial instinct and relationship-driven business development skills.
• Fluency in English (additional languages advantageous).

Responsibilities

• Broker spot and period tanker charters across Suezmax and Aframax segments.
• Develop and maintain relationships with shipowners, trading houses, oil majors and supply chain operators.
• Drive business development through proactive client engagement across Europe and global markets.
• Monitor freight markets, macro developments and tanker supply/demand dynamics.
• Execute charter fixtures from negotiation through to recap and post-fixture coordination.
• Collaborate with internal trading and commercial teams to identify cross-sell opportunities.
• Contribute to the strategic growth and positioning of the Copenhagen tanker charter desk.
• Represent the firm at industry events and maritime conferences.

Compensation: USD 100–125K (equivalent) + Direct % Payout

Imperium Commodity Search is confidentially retained by a fast-growing international maritime trading and brokerage platform to appoint a Tanker Chartering Shipbroker (Suezmax / Aframax) as part of the expansion of its Copenhagen office.

Operating across ship brokerage, maritime transactions and commodity trading, the firm combines entrepreneurial execution with strong capital backing and structured growth plans. This hire forms a key part of the build-out of its European tanker chartering desk, with clear progression and long-term desk leadership potential.

This opportunity is ideally suited to an established Tanker Charter Broker seeking greater autonomy, transparent compensation and the ability to scale a desk within a growth-focused maritime platform.

The Role – Tanker Chartering (Suezmax / Aframax)

As a Tanker Chartering Shipbroker, you will:

• Broker spot and period tanker charters across Suezmax and Aframax segments

Experience & Profile
