Job summary

COWI is seeking an experienced Senior Tunnel Engineer to deliver high‑quality solutions across underground structures and tunnel design. You will lead TBM and NATM/SEM projects, coordinate multidisciplinary teams and mentor engineers in a global geotechnical and tunnelling practice.

Qualifications

Bachelor's/Master's degree in civil or geotechnical engineering.
At least 10 years' experience in tunnel engineering and geotechnical disciplines.
Practical TBM tunnelling and NATM/SEM experience.
Experience leading multidisciplinary design teams and client relationships.
Strong numerical modelling skills with the listed software.

Responsibilities

Take technical ownership of tunnel and underground structures design scopes across project phases.
Lead TBM tunnel system design, segmental lining, launch/reception, and construction methods.
Plan NATM/SEM tunnels, temporary and permanent supports, excavation sequences, risk mitigation.
Lead rock engineering assessments and stability analyses for openings and rock slopes.
Coordinate interfaces between civil, structural, geotechnical, MEP, and construction teams.
Provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, and review deliverables.
Support strategic bids for tunnelling teams.
Perform and review advanced analyses and numerical modelling.
Serve as technical point of contact for clients, contractors, authorities and stakeholders.
