Job summary

Pascal Audio is seeking a Test Automation Engineer to join our software team in Herlev. You will mainly automate using Python, pytest, and Playwright, maintaining current setups and shaping the automation approach for new products, while also handling manual and exploratory testing when beneficial.

You will work with developers to improve testability, write reusable test code, and ensure tests run reliably in CI/CD environments.

Qualifications

• Five+ years in test automation or a similar engineering role.
• Ownership or major improvements of an automation framework.
• Starting a new automation framework for a product/project.
• Strong Python skills.
• Hands-on pytest experience: fixtures, parametrisation, test organisation, reporting.
• Practical Playwright experience for stable UI automation incl. auth, APIs, CI.
• Git, PRs/code reviews, CI/CD experience.
• Investigating flaky tests and environment/data issues.
• Solid understanding of manual, integration, system and regression testing.
• ISTQB Foundation Level or equivalent.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve existing automation setup in Python/pytest/Playwright.
• Understand current framework and improve maintainability as products evolve.
• Build new automation frameworks for new products, platforms or tech.
• Write reusable test code: fixtures, helpers, data, config, reporting.
• Add regression coverage across UI, API, integration, system and audio testing.
• Apply visual regression where useful and ensure reliable CI/CD runs.
• Investigate flaky tests and environment issues beyond re-running tests.
• Collaborate with developers to improve testability and diagnosability.
• Conduct exploratory/manual testing when needed and feed insights into automation.
• Document risk, release readiness and testing needs before software releases.
• Keep test documentation and execution plans up to date in QASE.
