Job summary

Satair A/S in Copenhagen seeks an experienced Backend API Automation Tester to ensure RESTful and SOAP services meet high standards of functionality and performance. You will design, implement and maintain automated test frameworks, validate complex authentication flows, and work closely with DevOps to embed tests in CI/CD pipelines.

The role requires 5–7 years of backend/API testing, strong Playwright skills, and knowledge of Jira/Agile practices.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience in backend/API testing with hands-on Playwright experience.
• Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript for automation scripting.
• Solid understanding of REST APIs, HTTP methods, headers and status codes.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum, Jira and test management tools (XRAY, HP ALM, Practi Test).
• Knowledge of security validation and authentication flows (OAuth, JWT, API keys).
• Experience with CI/CD tooling and pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
• Experience with performance testing tools (JMeter, K6) is a plus.
• ISTQB Foundation certification is advantageous.
• Familiarity with e-commerce platform architectures.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain automated test frameworks for backend services and APIs.
• Create and execute API tests using Playwright; automate authentication flows.
• Validate RESTful and SOAP APIs for functionality, performance, and schema integrity.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous quality.
• Analyze results, identify root causes, and collaborate with developers for fixes.
• Develop test plans, cases and data strategies for backend systems.
• Perform regression, smoke and integration testing to support releases.
