Job summary

Worldline is seeking a Principal Tech Lead based in Stockholm to guide multiple squads and translate architecture vision into production-ready solutions. You will work with Mission Architects, DevSecOps, QA, Security and Product teams to drive initiatives across Europe.

You will mentor tech leads, drive architectural modernization, and ensure high-quality engineering practices while balancing hands-on contribution with strategic influence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical field.
• Fluent English communication skills.
• Extensive experience in senior technical leadership roles.
• Proven track record delivering cross-team software in enterprise environments.
• Strong expertise in software architecture and distributed systems.
• Experience with cloud-native platforms and modernization initiatives.
• Ability to mentor and influence engineering practices across teams.
• deep understanding of DevSecOps, CI/CD, observability and security.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design and implementation across multiple squads.
• Collaborate with Squad Tech Leads to tackle high-risk, high-complexity challenges and accelerate delivery.
• Contribute hands-on when deep expertise is required.
• Translate architecture guidance into practical patterns and reference implementations.
• Drive modernization, cloud adoption and platform transformation.
• Ensure solutions meet functional and non-functional requirements with cross-team teams.
• Identify engineering challenges and escalate optimization opportunities to leadership.
• Champion engineering quality and operational excellence across squads.
• Support technical decision-making and risk management.
• Mentor junior and senior engineers to foster growth.
