Job summary

The LEGO Group in Billund, Denmark is seeking a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to act as the Quality Key Account for external plastic and processing suppliers across Europe. You will drive supplier qualification, performance improvement, risk mitigation, and governance to ensure products meet quality, reliability, safety and regulatory standards worldwide.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years in quality or engineering field.
  • Lead Auditor for ISO 9001 is required.
  • Injection molding experience with knowledge of failure modes.
  • Lean and quality tools: APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA, FMEA, 8D.
  • Strong communication in a multicultural environment and stakeholder management.
  • Project management experience and problem-solving skills.
  • English as working language, native-level proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Act as Quality Key Account for external plastic and processing suppliers in EU.
  • Lead supplier assessments, close gaps with cross-functional teams, drive lift-up actions.
  • Monitor supplier performance to ensure LEGO quality, reliability, and safety standards worldwide.
  • Apply SME-level knowledge to drive scalable quality solutions and coach suppliers.
  • Lead quality incidents, balance cost and quality to drive root-cause analysis.
  • Support novelty projects to mitigate quality risks across development stages.
  • Lead yearly strategic quality projects.

Job Description

Are you ready to act as the Quality Key Account for external plastic and processing suppliers in Europe and drive supplier quality excellence across a global organization?

Act as a critical quality leader within Supplier Quality Performance, driving supplier qualification, performance improvement, risk mitigation, and quality governance to ensure products continuously meet The LEGO Group's quality, reliability, safety, and regulatory requirements worldwide.

Core Responsibilities
  • Acting as Quality Key account for external plastic and processing supplier located in EU.
  • Play a critical role in new supplier selection and qualification by leading supplier assessment with cross-functional stakeholders, following up identified gaps, and driving lift-up actions where necessary to meet LEGO requirements.
  • Accountable for existing supplier performance monitoring to ensure products continuously comply with The LEGO Group quality, reliability, as well as toy industry safety and regulatory requirements worldwide, including KPI setting, supplier annual audits, and Must Win Battle projects.
  • Apply SME-level knowledge to drive scalable business solutions and manage/coaching suppliers to improve quality management systems and customer satisfaction.
  • Be the key person driving quality incidents within complex environments, tactically balancing cost and quality to influence root cause analysis and improvement actions.
  • Provide support and coordination with novelty project teams to handle development issues and mitigate quality risks while governing defined project deliverables at each development stage.
  • Lead yearly special projects under strategy deployment.

The Supplier Quality Performance team is one of the functional teams under QiEP, Corporate Quality. Its major task is to secure a sustainable supplier platform that continuously delivers products that meet or exceed The LEGO Group quality requirements.

As a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer, you will voice quality risks within project teams and drive risk-mitigation action implementation. You will visualize, report, and escape quality incidents while driving problem-solving activities. You will set goals, monitor supplier performance, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to ensure suppliers continuously deliver high-quality products. The role also adds value to the business by tactically balancing cost and quality within special projects.

Do you have what it takes?
  • More than 8 years in quality or engineering area.
  • Certified Lead Auditor for ISO 9001 is required.
  • Injection molding industry experience with familiarity in injection molding failure modes and quality verification methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with lean and quality tools such as APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA, FMEA, and 8D.
  • Strong communication skills in a multicultural working environment and stakeholder management.
  • Skilled project management experience.
  • Sophisticated problem-solving capability in complex situations.
  • English as the working language with native-level proficiency.
Nice-to-Haves
  • Qualified Auditor for VDA 6.5.
  • Engineering background.
  • Toy industry experience.
  • Basic toy safety knowledge and understanding of international standards.
