Job summary

CERN is seeking a Structural Civil Engineer to lead design, analysis and oversight of civil structures across the project lifecycle. You will contribute to the development, maintenance and rehabilitation of CERN's infrastructure, ensuring safety and compliance while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and external partners.

Responsibilities include feasibility studies, detailed design, BIM input in reviews, and site support during construction.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in civil engineering design and structural calculations, including reinforced concrete, structural steel and special works.
• Experience in road and infrastructure design, structural assessment and monitoring, cost estimation of construction works.
• Great familiarity with underground structures and works (galleries, tunnels) is an asset.
• First experience in hydraulic calculations and network design is an asset.
• Master's Degree or equivalent in civil engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Perform feasibility, preliminary and detailed design studies for civil engineering structures, including structural analysis and dimensioning.
• Review, validate and coordinate design drawings and models, and contribute to BIM management with structural input.
• Assess existing structures and define reinforcement or modification solutions, contributing to maintenance and rehabilitation programmes.
• Prepare technical specifications, contribute to calls for tender, and manage framework contracts related to structural services.
• Support construction phases through technical follow-up, site inspections and validation of works.
